Senate Commends April 2011 Elections
Obiora Ani, Abuja
The Senate in Nigeria has commended the April 2011 elections and attributed its success to the 2010 Electoral Act and the amendment of the 1999 constitution by the National Assembly.
Nigeria’s Senate President, David Mark, said this on Tuesday at the resumption of plenary after the elections and Easter break.

Senator Mark, while congratulating the law makers and Nigerians for a successful election, stated that the country made history by holding a globally acknowledged free and fair general election.
The senate spokesman added that pending bills would be passed before the end of the current National Assembly early next month.
