Security agents uncover arms cache in Kano

The Kano state joint security Task Force says their recent encounter with the suspected Boko Haram at Mariri area in Warawa LGA in Kano state was a successful one because of the useful information they received from the public.
The Joint Task Force spokesman Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha made the statement at a joint press briefing of the Task Force at the State Security Service Headquarters in Kano.
The joint security task Force spokesman said that at the end of the operation, a search at the premises revealed that the suspects’ facility was a Bomb manufacturing facility as well as an operational warehouse with several IEDs, 10 AK 47 Rifles with 27 loaded magazines of ammunition, and one pump action gun.
Others included 223 live ammunition in packets, several police uniforms and assorted identity cards to facilitate suspected terrorist operations, bags of urea fertilizer and assorted connection cables for detonating IEDs were discovered.
Mr. Bassey Eteng, the Director, State Security Service, Kano says during their attack of the Boko Haram residence at Mariri in Kano on Monday evening, they had four casualties on the side of the suspected terrorists.
He appealed to the Public to continue to furnish them with vital information as they will continue to guarantee their safety.
It would be recall that the Nigerian government has appealed to the suspected Boko Haram group to make themselves available for dialogue.
