Ouattara Envoy In Abuja For Talks

Mr. Guillaume Soro, the Prime Minister to the International recognized President of Cote d'Ivore, Alassane Ouattara, has held talks with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja .
Soro's visit to Nigeria was to thank the ECOWAS Chairman and Nigeria for their positions on the political situation in Cote D'Ivore and explore ways of a peaceful resolution.
Prime Minister Guillaume Soro, at talks with Nigeria's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs , Hajiya Salamatu Suleman, reviewed progress in the political impasse created after November 28, 2010 election. The discussions focused on the resolutions of the regional body, ECOWAS, and the stand of the international community.
Hajiya Salamatu said that out going president Gbagbo was only using delay tactics.
She said that if dialogue fails, ECOWAS will not hesitate to use legitimate force in Cote d Ivore.
She said that ECOWAS would continue to support peace initiatives to ensure that President-elect Alassane Ouattara assumes office, based on the results of the November 28 election.
