Police boss orders 24 hour INEC offices surveillance

Nigeria's Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim, has ordered twenty four hours surveillance of all Electoral Commission's offices and facilities across Nigeria.

The measure is in reaction to an explosion which occurred at the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Suleja, Niger State, North Central Nigeria.

The Nigeria Police Boss explained that six females and two males were confirmed dead, and some Nigerian Youth Service Scheme members, who had gone to check their names for the Parliamentary election duty.

Mr Ringim called on Nigerians to avail the Police of useful information that could lead to the arrest of the criminal elements behind the act.

The premises of the INEC office in Suleja where the bomb explosion took place has been condoned off while investigations have commenced.
