Ojukwu Responding To Treatment – Envoy
The ailing former Nigerian warlord, Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu currently receiving treatment at a London Hospital is said to be ‘remarkably stable' .
Mr. Dozie Nwanna , Nigeria 's Ag. High Commissioner to the UK , who visited Ojukwu in the hospital on Sunday, said in London : '' There was remarkable improvement everyday on his health'' .
The envoy said the former Biafran leader was much better than when he was brought in from Nigeria .
Nwanna, who said he was received by Ojukwu's wife, Bianca, added: ''The wife and members of his family who are with him were all in good spirit. Nigerians should continue to pray for his quick recovery''.
Ojukwu was flown to London after spending three days in the intensive care unit of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital , Enugu , eastern Nigeria , after suffering from a stroke.
Dispelling rumour
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh, has dispelled the rumour that the former warlord passed on, on Sunday.
He also maintained that the ailing ex-Biafran warlord was responding to treatment in a United Kingdom hospital.
Umeh said he had maintained contact with people that accompanied Odumegwu-Ojukwu on the medical trip and tasked those interested in his health to pray for him.
“Ikemba is alive and responding well to treatment. It is not true that he is dead. I urge anybody who has concern for his health to pray for his quick recovery instead of speculating that he is dead,” Umeh said.
The APGA chairman described the rumour of Odumegwu-Ojukwu's death as “false and very unfortunate” .
Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who is down with Cerebral Vascular Accident (stroke), was last Thursday, flown to the United Kingdom on board a German air ambulance for further treatment.
