Nigerian industrialists tasked on leadership

Captains of Industry in Nigeria have been reminded of the need to demonstrate charisma and visionary leadership for sustaining long term economic development.
The former Director General, Securities and Exchange Commission Dr. Suleyman Ndanusa gave the charge at a public lecture in Lagos, South West Nigeria.
Dr. Ndanusa said corporate leaders should embrace the culture of innovative approaches to guaranty optimal performance.
He used the occasion to urge corporate leaders to ensure that they keep to core values driving their operations in the corporate industry.
Visionary leadership
According to him, the time is gone when businesses died with their leaders. To him, a visionary leader must attract time and loyal followers by always focusing on the outcome, which is the vision.
Dr. Ndanusa said that charismatic leadership is an absolute requirement for a successfully shaped visionary company.
In his view, visionary leaders must ensure they are guided by the principles of creativity and core values of their organizations.
