Nigerian youths have been charged to participate actively in politics and decision making process as vanguards for positive change in the society.
The managing director, SAHARA GROUP, Tonye Cole, made this charge in Lagos State, South West Nigeria during the eight annual Nigeria Youth Leadership Awards organized by the Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability and Professionalism group, known as LEAP Africa.
Creating enabling environment for growth
Tonye Cole used the occasion to encourage Nigerian youths to foster political as well as economic change so as to realize the Nigeria of their dream.
Enumerating the level of talents and skill in Nigerian youths, Cole said the time had come for Nigerian youths to develop their God given talents and channel their energy and resources into initiatives that would move the nation forward.
Cole further called on the older generation to contribute to youth development through capacity building and entrepreneurial training.
He urged the Nigerian government to put in place necessary infrastructure and facilities to enable talented and skillful Nigerian youths to perform effectively.
Cole, however, commended the organizers and founders of LEAP Africa for such a laudable initiative that should be encouraged to achieve its set goals and objectives.
Some of the awardees expressed their pleasure over their recognition by the project saying they would continue to impact positively on Nigeria and Africa at large.
