Funke Atohengbe, Pretoria
Nigeria’s New High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador Samuel Yusuf has promised to take relations between Nigeria and South Africa to a strategic level.
On his arrival in Johannesburg to take up his new position, Ambassador Yusuf said such strategic partnership had been developed with other countries across the world and he looked forward to doing same with South Africa.
He expressed the hope that with the cooperation of the host country, this partnership would be achieved.
Ambassador Yusuf promised to operate an open door policy and called on the Nigerian Community in South Africa to work with him and the Mission to achieve his mandate.
He said he would not fall short of his mandate of finding lasting solutions to their problems.
The New Ambassador replaces General Buba Marwa who has since returned to Nigeria to pursue his political ambition.
