Gloria Essien, Abuja
Nigeria and Trinidad and Tobago are set to collaborate on improving maternal health in both countries.
This deal was arrived at by the wife of the Nigerian president Mrs. Patience Jonathan and her Trinidad and Tobago counterpart Mrs. Jean Ram John Richards, during a courtesy call on the Nigerian president’s wife.
Mrs. Jonathan said that through her Women for Change and Development Initiative, she would partner with Trinidad and Tobago to uplift Nigerian and African women.
Earlier, the wife of Trinidad and Tobago president, Mrs. Richards said that having been a medical doctor for over forty years and working in the area of maternal and child health, she could assist Nigeria in that area.
She however hoped that her visit to Nigeria would be beneficial to both countries.
