Lagos inaugurates Research and Development initiatives for investors

Lagos state, in the southwest of Nigeria, has inaugurated a research, development and innovation initiative for investors.

The Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Tola Kasali, stated this at the annual ministerial press briefing in Lagos.

He said: “the initiative is geared towards harnessing and creating an enabling environment for the ingenuity and creative ideas.”

Dr Kasali also disclosed that there was an improvement in the ability of the State to respond to emergencies having trained about 300 persons in the area of Basic Life Support during emergencies.

Commenting further on the 270 youth Corps members evacuated from Bauchi State in the aftermath of election related violence in some part of Northern Nigeria, the commissioner said the government had not taken a decision as to their permanent relocation to northern states.

He said decision on the continuity of the Nation Youth Service Corps Scheme would be determined by the National Assembly.
