Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Jonathan has said that Thursday’s bomb attack on the police force headquarters in Abuja is a turning point.
The president, who spoke in a post on his Facebook page, restated his declaration two months ago, after a blast, that "enough is enough".
Fishing out perpetrators
Jonathan said that the Nigerian government would, with level headedness but urgent priority, take appropriate steps to bring those behind the dastardly act to justice.
He said: “I promised an era of transformation and I will not waver in that commitment nor allow any force hamper that resolve to bring about those positive changes that the common man in Nigeria desires and has patiently waited for.”
President Jonathan commiserated with the families of the victims and assured them that justice would be done and that their loved ones had not died in vain.
Dr Jonathan stressed that the government would do everything to fish out the masterminds of the recent bombings in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Boko Haram radical Islamist group has claimed responsibility for the Thursday bombing that left two dead and over 70 vehicles destroyed at the Police Force headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The attack is said to be in connection with the statement by the Police Inspector General, Mr. Rafiz Ringim, that the days of the group were numbered.
