Government set to reposition housing sector
By Uche Aneke, Abuja
The Nigerian government has set out to reposition the housing sector to enable it contribute twenty percent of the nation's GDP within the next few years.
President Jonathan stated this at the foundation laying ceremony of ten-thousand- unit housing estate for civil servants in Abuja.
He said the government would achieve this target by embarking on a massive housing scheme that would address the accommodation problem faced by Nigerians and create jobs for the youths.
The President also said that government had already provided attractive incentives to encourage private sector investment in estate development as well as urban infrastructural and social services development across the country.
