Jonathan dissolves boards of government’s parastatals

President Jonathan has dissolved the boards of Federal Government parastatals, as a committee to select new members of boards is constituted.

Jonathan announced the dissolution while inaugurating the committee that will select new members of the boards which will soon be constituted.

The committee, which the President described as “the most powerful” committee, is headed by Vice President Namadi Sambo and has Senate President, Senator David Mark member, Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Peoples Democratic party’s acting national Chairman, Mr. Abubakar Baraje as members.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation is to serve as the Secretary of the Committee.

Jonathan said the dissolution was customary as it was necessary for a new board to be reconstituted at the end of every four years.

He thanked those who had served on the various boards and charged the committee to hasten up their work so that the government could immediately reconstitute the boards.
