Jonathan expresses joy over peaceful conduct of NASS election

Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan, has expressed joy over
the peaceful conduct of Saturday's National Assembly
election across Nigeria.
President Jonathan said this on Sunday, in Suleja, Niger State, Central Nigeria, after a visit to the General Hospital, Gwagwalada, to commiserate
with victims of last Friday's bomb blast.
Jonathan said that despite the pockets of flaws,
he was happy over the conduct of the election.
Envisaged improvement
He expressed confidence that there would be significant improvement in susequent elections and hoped that by 2015 when the next general elections would be conducted, some of the hiccups witnessed would have been taken care of.
The president expressed great sadness over the bomb blast
that killed innocent youths and noted that having
inspected the hospital wards, he had seen young people
who, while serving their nation, got caught up in what he called a "dastardly act" by some anti social elements.
He stated that government would get at those behind the act and promised to make them face the law.
The president, who is also presidential candidate of the ruling People's Democratic Party, stessed that the government would take care of all the medical bills incured by the victims of the bomb blast.
