House of Representatives calls for reversal of subsidy removal
Latifat Afegbua, Abuja

The House of Representatives has called on the Executive Arm of Government to reverse the controversial fuel subsidy removal.

The Lawmakers, who held an emergency plenary session on Sunday, said the suspension of the oil subsidy would allow for more consultations among all parties concerned.

The House also urged Labour Unions and Civil Societies to suspend the planned strike action to allow for further dialouge on the matter.

An eight member Ad-Hoc Committee, headed by Mr Patrick Ikheriale, set up by the House to meet Labour leaders and government representatives to resolve the current crisis.
