Government Urged To Increase Funding Of Federal Institutions

The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Education, Alhaji
Farouk Lawan, has said that there is need for the Nigerian government to increase
funding to federal institutions in the country to avoid crisis.
Alhaji Farouk said this during a budget defence session of the
ministry of information and on the crisis in the Kaduna state Polytechnic. Low institutions' standard
He said that infrastructure in federal institutions were gradually decaying due to
inadequate funding.
The lawmaker said that on the issue of the crisis in the Kaduna Polytechnic,
there was also need for supplementary funding in addition to what government is
giving.
Commenting on the crisis in Kaduna Polytechnic, the Minister of Education, Hajia Rukayat Dukku, said that President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a visitation panel made up of reputable people to resolve the crisis.
She said that the panel has already started work.
