Ruling PDP Flags Off Presidential Campaign

The ruling People's Democratic Party, PDP in Nigeria flags off its Presidential campaign for the 2011 general election in Lafia, the capital of North central Nasarawa state.

Incumbent President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo are leading the campaign team comprising the Senate President, members of the party's Board of Trustees, its National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, governors of PDP controlled states in the north central zone as well as top members of the National Assembly.

President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo emerged the flag bearers for the party at its Presidential Primary held on January 13 th in Abuja .

The PDP Presidential campaign will take place in all the six geo-political zones of the country.

A statement by the National Secretary of the PDP, Professor Rufai Ahmed Alkali, called on Nigerians to give unwavering support to the Presidential flag bearer, as he leads the nation towards transformations.
