Ruling Party Submits Flag Bearers Names

The name of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is topping the list of flag bearers of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the April general election.

President Jonathan is the Presidential candidate of the PDP.

Among the names that made the list for the gubernatorial ticket is Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano state, who won the primary to contest again for the governorship of Kano state.

Mr. Jibrin Isah, a banker is the candidate for Kogi state, north central while Mr. Gboyega Isiaka made the list for Ogun state in South West Nigeria.

The list was submitted on Monday, amidst protests and threats of court injunctions as well as threats of decamping to other political parties by some aggrieved candidates including candidates for governorship and National assembly elections.

The election commission, INEC, had set Monday, 31 st of January as the deadline for the submission of lists of eligible candidates for the April elections.
