Elected officials receive certificate of return

Nigerian elected officials from different political parties have received letters of return confirming victories during the April general elections.

In Lagos, Governor Babatunde Fasola of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), re-elected for second term along with other National and state parliamentary positions received their letters of return at the Electoral Commission’s office in Lagos with a fanfare.

They used the opportunity to reassure electorates on fulfilment of their campaign promises.

 In Kano, Governor Elect, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, says his government will ensure peace, stability and progress in the state.

The Kano state Governor Elect made the statement during the award of certificates to the winners of the April 2011 elections in the state.

Investment environment
 
Dr. Kwankwaso says his administration will create an enabling environment for investors to invest for the industrial development of the state.
 
He assured the Youths and Women in Kano that his administration would create job opportunities, ensure an enabling environment for studies and provide medical facilities for them.
 
The Kano state Governor elect promised that as from May 29, 2011 Women in Kano State would receive a free Antenatal medical care in Kano.
 
He urged other winners of the April 2011 elections to ensure that they fulfil their promises to the people.

Dr. Kwankwaso equally urged all the people in state to work together for the progress and development of Kano state.

Dedication
 
Both Governor Fashola and one of the senators elec,t Kabir Gaya, from Kano, Northern Nigeria condoled the families and relatives of those who lost their lives during the April 2011 elections in the state.

Fashola singled out the Ad hoc staff - Corps members - killed during the violent protests in the north for commendation.
 
Similarly, the INEC staff, security agencies, Traditional rulers and everyone who assisted in ensuring a successful conduct of elections in the State were equally appreciated.
