The Nigerian Customs Service in the Nigerian-Benin Republic Command, Seme Border, has transferred 27 parcels of narcotics, four suspects – a couple and two children - to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further investigation.
The Customs’ Area Controller in charge of Seme Command, Sahabi Abubakar, told a world press conference that the suspects were arrested following a tip-off.
According to him, the suspects concealed the illegal drugs in the boot of a car and used his children to shield the items on the back seat as a decoy.
The Deputy Commandant of the drug enforcement agency, Adamu Eyijeje commended the efforts of the customs and promised that due process would be followed in the trial of the suspects.
