Defence College commits to democratic process

The National Defence College (NDC) in Nigeria says it is committed to the country’s democratic process.

The college’s Dean, African Centre for Strategic Research and Studies, Dr Istifanus Zabadi,  said this when he led the 19th course participants  on a visit to the Nigerian High Commission in London.

Zabadi said the role of the college as one of Nigeria’s apex institutions of higher learning in leadership and managerial skills was very important to development process

He said the college also prepares senior personnel in the military and the civil service, including those from other African countries, for national service.

Zabadi said that the eleven-month study programme would include geo-strategic issues.

The college was established in 1992 as the highest military institution for the training of Nigeria’s senior military officers as well as those from other African countries. Over a thousand officers have graduated from the college since its inception.
