Court restrains Labour from planned protest

The National Industrial Court sitting in Abuja,Nigeria's capital, has restrained the Nigeria Labour Congress, (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress, TUC from going ahead with its planned nationwide strike.

The Judge, Babatunde Adejuwon restrained the Labour union from inciting the people from embarking or compelling anybody to go on strike action until the case is determined.
The case was adjourned to January 12.

But the legal adviser of the Unions, Mr Femi Falana has said that the Union has not received any court injunction.

Labour has directed his affiliates to go on with the strike scheduled to commence on January 9.
