WHO Commends Lagos State On Eradication Of Polio

The World Health Organisation, WHO has commended Lagos State government for ensuring zero tolerance for the eradication of Polio in the state.

The State Governor Babatunde Fashola told stakeholders and the Ikorodu community in the outskirt of the state capital that he had received a letter of commendation from the WHO.

He therefore called on all citizens to continue to support government's drive to eradicate polio from the country even as the state records zero percent in 2010.

The Commissioner for health for Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris explained that the state had been able to implement all the stages outlined by the World Health Organisation for polio eradication.
