Enugu Command Sets Up Base To Improve Security Abiodun Ozurumba , Enugu
The Enugu State Police Command has pledged continuous protection of the lives and property of people in the state and its environs.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Job Doma made the pledge at the official commissioning of an Anti-Kidnapping Distress Call Base, comprising a Charge-room, Sentry and Flag stand.
Mr. Doma said that the initiative is the first of its kind in the country, pointing out that the Enugu State Command had always been a pacesetter.
The Commissioner of Police said the removal of road blocks on the highways was to enable the Police carry out its duties more effectively and to relieve the general public of the stress of stopping suddenly on the highways.
Provision of logistics
He commended the Inspector General of Police for his laudable foresights, especially in the area of provision of basic work tools, most of which are essential foe effective policing during the forthcoming April elections.
Mr. Doma called on the general public to always give the police useful information that will help them arrest miscreants.
The patrol commander of the base, Mr. Stephen Osaghae thanked all Nigerians who contributed to the command and encouraged others to emulate the gesture.
