Jonathan Calls For Increased Niger Delta Development
The new Special Adviser on Niger Delta, Mr. Kingsley Kuku has been advised to play the role of a bridge-builder, to bring development, peace and youth empowerment to the region.
Nigeria 's President, Goodluck Jonathan, speaking after swearing-in the Special Adviser at State House, Abuja , said his role was to be a bridge-builder, using his knowledge to bring peace, critical to development in the Niger Delta region.
President Jonathan advised the new Special Adviser to cultivate a good working relationship with governments in the Niger Delta, the youth, companies operating in the area as well as the traditional rulers.
The President wished Mr. Kuku success and emphasised that that the Niger Delta issues were global in nature, attracting the world's attention.
Profile Kingsley Kemebradigha Kuku holds a first degree from Ondo State University in Nigeria and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Cambridge University .
Until this appointment, he was a member of the Presidential Committee on Amnesty.
