Buhari promises to revive anti-graft agencies

The Presidential flag bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the opposition parties in the April general elections in Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, has promised to reinvigorate the nation's anti-graft agencies if elected President.
Addressing party supporters in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital in Central Nigeria, the Former Nigerian Head of State said that with the restructuring of the anti graft agencies, he would also use the mandate to recover the nation's stolen wealth currently in the hands of corrupt political office holders.
Denied access
The presidential candidate complained of being denied the use of public space for his campaign as requested by his party. The Permanent Secretary to Nasarawa State Government House, Mr. Silas Dachor is said to have refused access to public venues to stage the planned party rally, in a letter written on behalf of the state Governor, Aliyu Akwe-Doma.
Armed Police personnel had cordoned off the state-controlled parade ground where General Buhari had been hosted in previous visits to the state. The Lafia township stadium was locked up for perceived fear that the opposition party might use it as a second option.
Similarly, government and some traditional rulers in the state equally turned down requests by the opposition party presidential candidate to pay them a courtesy visit.
