| Auto inspector introduced in Nigeria

An auto inspector device that can detect the authenticity of vehicles’ documents has been introduced in Nigeria.
The device will allow security agencies, including the Nigeria Police Vehicle Inspection Units (VIU), Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) in Southwest Nigeria to fast track vehicle inspections and authentication of vehicle particulars.
The Governor of Lagos state, Mr Babatunde Fashola, while launching the device expressed satisfaction with the innovation.
He said that the introduction of the auto inspector device was an effort of the government’s to reduce vehicle theft.
The governor also explained that the Auto inspector device which is hand-held was in line with the state’s policy to forge enduring platform for public private sector partnership at various levels in a bid to continue to yield gainful socio economic goals.
