Nigeria And Argentina Strengthen Ties
Nigeria 's Foreign Affairs Minister, Odein Ajumogobia has said that the new bilateral agreements with Argentina would help to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
The minister, who arrived in Argentina on Tuesday for an official visit, said the Nigerian government had a firm belief that huge benefits abound in the co-operation agreement.
“Nigeria and Argentina have been friends for so many years before now, but we are looking at strengthening what we have through this meeting. We believe this meeting represents a huge opportunity for both countries as it will help in developing some strong economic and cultural ties,” he said.
The agreement
The new agreements include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Political Integration.
It will also see both countries agreeing on several bilateral issues in the areas of economic and cultural development.
President of the Argentine-Nigerian Community of Commerce (CANC), Chief Alberto Borga, told newsmen that the new agreement was a fresh beginning for both countries.
“It is really a fresh beginning for both countries. It is an opportunity to tap into those areas we have both failed to benefit from, and we believe it will help in boosting both countries´ development,'' he said.
