Ex-Warlord Ojukwu Flown Abroad For Medical Treatment

The ailing former Nigerian warlord, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu has been flown abroad for medical attention, through an Air Ambulance to save his life.

Chief Ojukwu, 77 , had been on a life supporting machine, at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital , Enugu .

The great Biafran warlord was flown out of eastern Enugu state on Thursday afternoon through the Akanu Ibiam International Airport .

The Anambra state government has secured the air ambulance for the All Progressives Grand Alliance National leader, who was diagnosed for low blood pressure.

According to reports, Ojukwu went into a coma late on Saturday and was rushed to the teaching hospital on Tuesday.

Group calls for prayers

Meanwhile, the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has declared ‘intensive prayers' for the former Biafra leader.

Its national director of information, Mr. Uchenna Madu, in a text message said prayers would be led by the MASSOB religious affairs department under the auspices of Bishop Okeke, the national coordinator of Biafra clergy parliament.

Madu said, “We really need God's intervention on him. As the father and Eze Nd'Igbo, we can't fold our hands and watch him pass through traumatic experience. Our assistance to him is prayers.”

The statement asked members of the organisation to “ remain calm and avoid anxiety on Ojukwu, as God of Biafra will heal him.”
