NFA Unveils Eagles' Coaches
THE
Nigeria Football Association (NFA) is expected to meet over the
weekend in Abuja, the nations capital to officially present the
newly appointed technical crew of the Super Eagles, discuss
their wages and finally sign an agreement with the them.
It will be recalled that when the coaches'
appointment was announced about three weeks ago, the NFA
declined to say how much they would be earning monthly as
salaries until the association and the coaches sign the contract
papers that would make it legal to publicly announce their
emoluments.
The Glass House had also said it was waiting on
telecommunications giant, Globacom, to come forward for
negotiations on the coaches' salaries, since it still had a
contract with Globacom.
Reports say said that talks with Globacom, which
has a contract with the association to bankroll the national
coaches' salaries, broke down last month, as the two parties
could not agree on how much the coaches were to be paid.
While the NFA wanted Amodu to receive the same
amount that German Berti Vogts was getting, the Globacom was
said to have insisted that Amodu be paid less than Vogts got.
However, it was not clear whether the two parties
had reached an agreement on the coaches' pay packets especially
that of the head coach, Shaibu.
