FCT
Begins Sale Of 102 Houses
The
Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has opened the sale of
102 units of the low-income houses located at Karshi, a satellite town
in the FCT in Abuja.
FCTA however warned against favouritism in the balloting and allocation
to subscribers.
The houses which are sold to staff
members include 10 units of three bedroom bungalows, 32 units of two
bedroom flats, 56 units of single bedroom and four self-contained
apartments at the rate of 3.3million naira , 1.9million naira,
1.6million naira and 1.4million naira respectively.
The FCT Minister of State, Senator John
James Akpanudoedehe who flagged off the sale of the houses built at over
200million naira disclosed that the proceeds would be ploughed back into
the construction of more low-income houses and other social
infrastructure for the workers in the territory.
He said that the FCT administration was
also collaborating with other investors through the Public, Private
Partnership (PPP) initiative in order to embark on a massive
construction of affordable houses for all FCT workers in the territory.
Senator Akpanudoedehe disclosed that some
banks as well as other private investors had already expressed interest
to key into the planned FCT programme for massive housing in Abuja,
Nigeria’s capital.
