Business Exhibition
The
ECOWAS has advised business operators in the region to take
advantage of the forthcoming ‘Nimaskar Africa 2010’ exhibition
to explore better business relationship with their Indian
counterparts.
Head of ECOWAS Business and Enterprises Promotion, Mr. Enobong
Umoessien, in an interview, said that the exhibition would
provide a platform for businessmen and women in West Africa to
meet their Indian counterparts.
The business forum, scheduled for Lagos from 14th to 16th
January would provide opportunities to discuss joint venture
issues.
According to Umoessien, ’’the exhibition will be an exclusive
platform for Indian and African companies to meet and identify
potential areas of collaboration for the development of
strategic partnerships.’’
The ECOWAS official said that the exhibition would also afford
Indian companies opportunities to make inroads into the West
African market.
He said that sectors that could attract attention at the
exhibition would include healthcare and pharmaceuticals,
information and communications technology, power, agrifood and
allied services.
He listed others as roads and railways, housing and
construction, financial services, engineering goods and
automobiles.
The exhibition is organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers
of Commerce and Industry, the apex business chamber in India, in
collaboration with the Indian Ministry of Commerce.
