Special E- Passport For Physically Challenged
Lawal Hamidu, Gombe
The
Nigeria Immigration Service is to embark on Special
E-Passport to physically challenge individuals
across the country as part of effort to make
Nigerians E-Passport globally compliant.
The Comptroller General of the
Immigration Service Mr. Chukwurah Udeh stated this
in Gombe while on an official visit to the Gombe
State Deputy Governor, John Yoriyo.
Mr. Udeh said special mobile
equipments would be used to issue the
internationally accepted travel document especially
to those that may require medical attention abroad.
He said that the visit was to solicit
government support towards sensitizing the local
people especially intending pilgrims on the
E-Passport following directives by the Saudi
authorities that they would no longer accept any
pilgrim using passport other than Electronic one.
Receiving Mr. Udeh, Mr Yoriyo
reiterated government’s readiness to assist the
immigration service to provide quality service to
its people.
He also urged Nigerians to take
advantage of the electronic passport to fulfil their
religious obligations.
