Ngozi Anibogu, China
The Deputy Director of International
Cooperation, State Administration of Radio, Film and
Television of China, Mrs Zhou Guizhen has called on
developing nations to enter into alliance to promote
cooperation and exchanges in Radio and
Television communication.
She said this synergy would assist in
meeting the challenges of modern broadcasting
technology.
Mrs Guizhen made this call on
Thursday at the opening of a Seminar on Digital
Broadcasting Techniques for Developing Countries in
Beijing, China.
She said Radio and Television in
China were witnessing broad changes, brought about
by new technologies which pose challenges to
developing nations but present new opportunities for
cooperation.
According to her, the rapid economic
development of China in the past three decades, has
assisted the country to make some giant strides
in new technologies in Radio and Television
which play important role in the cultural, political
and social life of the country.
In his speech, the President, China
Radio and Television Cooperation for Techno-Economic
Cooperation, Mr Li Jinrong, said the seminar was
organised to offer opportunities for broadcast
media in China to cooperate with their counterparts
in other developing countries. He urged
participants to promote exchange of programmes,
personnel, technicians and other media expertise
among their countries.
About twenty participants from eleven
developing countries of Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin
America, and Oceania are attending the two-week
