Africa’s development
At the summit on Wednesday, the UN Deputy Secretary
General, Dr. Asha Rose Migiro urged African leaders
to develop national strategy for agricultural
development.
While addressing the session, Dr. Migiro said that
agriculture remained the cornerstone of development
in every region, as it does only create jobs but
also grows the economy sustainably.
According to her, a dollar invested in agriculture
in Africa has a two or three times greater impact on
poverty than the same amount invested in other
sectors.
