All set for Anambra
Governorship Election

The
Independent Electoral Commission, INEC and stakeholders in the
governorship election in the southeast State of Anambra have
confirmed their readiness for the Saturday poll in the state.
Voice Of Nigeria Correspondent in Enugu said, political
campaigns have ended peacefully and all international and local
election monitors have been accredited for the election.
According to him, the Chairman of the Conference of Nigeria
Political Parties, CNPP, Chief Maxi Okwu has also confirmed the
readiness of the security agencies to maintain law and order
during and after the poll.
He said the heavy security presence showed that the police means
business, in ensuring a violence-free election.
Okwu also commended the electoral commission for its decision to
release results at each polling unit before the final collation.
The Chairman of the CNPP however, urged the Commission to remain
impartial and use the Anambra state election to prove that the
commission could do it right.
He also commended to the Anambra State Governor and candidate of
the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Peter Obi for creating a
level-playing field for all candidates to campaign.
Okwu urged Anambra people to show patriotism by coming out
en-masse to vote.
