Meanwhile, Mapuordit’s Mary Immaculate Hospitalhas  inaugurated its Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) and Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) Centre  in  south Sudan.

Catholic Bishop Caesar Mazzolari of Rumbek said that the Centre was one of the only seven facilities in South Sudan and one of the two private HIV and Aids Centers.

Bishop Mazzolarti said the centre was a gift of a group of Doctors called Find the Cure, adding that the facility consists of an “attractive structure” with six offices where HIV and Aids patients can be received.

He explained that the organization Find the Cure is made up of voluntary medical practitioners who dedicate their time and talent for South Sudanese, paying for their own trips without remuneration.

ishop Mazzolari encouraged the staff to follow the example of the Good Samaritan while caring for the sick at the hospital and in the community.

The Administration of Mapuordit VCT/ART Center has expressed interest to partner with Good News Radio to bring about HIV and Aids awareness to the vast communities reached by the Rumbek-based diocesan community station.
