| South Africans Set for municipal elections
By Collins Atohengbe, Pretoria
South Africans are set for municipal elections on May 18, 2011, as many residents of townships and local settlements have intensified efforts to get political parties and their representatives committed to proper service delivery if they get into office.
The tactics include mass demonstrations which quite a number of the protesters have had to pay for dearly.
Despite this, the protests have increased and even the well established political organizations are making frantic efforts to win back the confidence of the electorates.
Public debates have also formed part of the avenues through which the political parties are selling their manifestoes to the electorates.
