Campaigns for Municipal Election in full swing
Collins Atohengbe, South Africa

Campaigns in the municipal election in South Africa are heating up with political parties employing all means to win voters sympathy.

In a swift reaction to the unending social unrests in the country, the ruling African National Congress has promised to review the mode of selecting those which will stand for it during the election as a way of placating voters anger.

Imposition of candidates is one of the reason being conversed by the electorate for their decision on which party to vote for in the May 18, polls.

Much as this is being proposed, leader of the Inkhata Freedom Party, Chief Mungosutho Buthelezi was at the top of his voice condemning what he called act of disrespect by the youth wing of the African National Congress which had planned to hold a rally right behind his residence.

In the same manner, the President of the youth wing of the ANC is being fingered for placing a poster of the ruling party in front of the residence of the Democratic Alliance, Hellen Zille.
