PAP to attend President Jonathan’s inauguration

The Pan African Parliament (PAP), says it will be well represented at the inauguration of Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on May 29.
 
The President of the Parliament, Dr Moussa Idriss Ndele told Voice of Nigeria correspondent in Midrand, South Africa, that as an important nation, PAP would send a delegation to attend the inauguration.
 
 
Dr Idriss Ndele described Nigeria as a strategic partner in Africa and to the African Union.
 
Dr Goodluck Jonathan was elected in April as Nigeria's President in an election that has been adjudged one of the freest in the country.
 
Inauguration time table

In a related development a detailed week long activity for the inauguration of president of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan has been outlined in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

At a press briefing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Yayale Ahmed said the activities would begin on Tuesday’s evening with the president’s interactive session with the business community in Lagos, southwest Nigeria.

Inauguration lectures will hold on May 26 and religious services will be held on Friday and Saturday while the inauguration of the president will take place on Sunday, May twenty nine.

Yayale said the inauguration of the president signals the deepening of democracy in the country.
