| Nigeria sends high powered delegation to South Sudan

Nigeria’s high-powered delegation to South Sudan for the independence anniversary celebration due on July 9 has arrived in Juba.
The Head of Chancery at the embassy, Mr John Ejinaka, announced the arrival of the delegation while addressing reporters on Tuesday.
The team is headed by Mr Adamu Abbas, Undersecretary for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Mr Timlok Nkem, Director, North and Horn of Africa Division and Mr Bulus Lolo, the newly appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ethiopia and Djibouti, as members.
The team which comprised three ambassadors left Addis Ababa for Juba on Tuesday after a stop-over.
Ejinaka said that the team served Nigeria’s advance team and members of the delegation to the South Sudan independence anniversary.
He said President Goodluck Jonathan is expected in Juba on July 9 for the ceremony.
Southern Sudan voted in a referendum on January 9 to secede from the North.
