| African Nations Tasked On Saharawi Independence Helen Shok Jok, Abuja
African Nations have been urged to re-double efforts towards ensuring that the People of the Sarahawi Arab Democratic Republic ( SADR ) attain its independence.
The President of the Sarahawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mr. Mohammed Abdelaziz, during an interactive session with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, said that the time for his country to enjoy independence through a free and fair election was now.
He said that ‘Africa must not rest until its last colony is free.'
Abdelaziz, who is in Nigeria on the invitation of President Goodluck Jonathan , said his interactions with the top echelon of the Nigerian government and society, have further assured him that the road to freedom for his country was near.
NLC President, Mallam Abdulwaheed Omar, said that Africa is a land of proud warriors and free people, and colonisation in whatever form was unacceptable.
Presently, SADR is a partially recognised state , which claims sovereignty over the entire territory of Western Sahara , a former Spanish colony.
