| Zambia Hosts Regional Environment Summit
Zambia is to host a regional summit to review environmental issues on Lake Tanganyika .
The meeting, on Wednesday, will be attended by about 10 regional leaders, including Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir.
Zambia has assured President Al-Bashir that he will not be arrested if he attends.
The Zambian government spokesman, Ronnie Shikapwasha said Zambia as a member of the African Union and the AU, had not found Bashir guilty, even though he faces a 2009 international war crimes warrant.
In September, the African Union called for a year's delay in al-Bashir's prosecution, saying a trial would interfere with efforts to end the seven-year conflict in Sudan 's Darfur region.
The regional meeting will among other topics, review environmental issues about Lake Tanganyika , whose fragile ecosystem has been a matter of concern to countries like Zambia , Tanzania , Congo , Rwanda and Burundi which share its waters.
