| Telecom Experts Prepare For World Conference Adoba Echono, Abuja
Telecommunication experts from across the African continent are meeting in Abuja, Nigeria's capital, to articulate Africa's views towards a common position at the forth- coming World Radio Communication Conference in Geneva, Switzerland next year.
The meeting, organised by the African Telecommunication Union, ATU, is the first preparatory meeting by the Africa-Group, to harmonise positions that would form the bulwark of the continent's stance at the conference.
Addressing the experts, the Nigerian Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Labaran Maku called on them to evolve policies that would ensure that Africa became the largest beneficiary of the digital dividend spectrum, in a bid to facilitate the continent's transmission from analogue to digital platform.
The World Radio Communication Conference provides an avenue for countries to agree on the sharing of Satellite Orbital Locations.
