| Southern Africa Plans Mobile HIV Clinics
The Southern African Development Community is to launch mobile HIV/AIDS clinics along major trade routes in the region.
South Africa 's deputy Minister of Health, Gwen Ramokgopa said the plan was one of the decisions reached at the meeting of SADC Ministers of Health, held in the Democratic Republic of Congo last week.
She said although a number of countries have instituted interventions at the border areas, there was no continuity of services to mobile populations.
A total of thirty two border sites have been identified for the mobile clinics.
Four mobile clinics would be hosted by South Africa , two on the Lesotho border and one each on the borders with Botswana and Swaziland .
