AU-EU Summit Ends In Libya

The third Africa-European Union summit has ended in Tripoli Libya with member nations expressing their commitments to improve trade, investments and partnership for the mutual benefit of the two continents.

A declaration tagged ‘the Tripoli declaration' and read by the Liberian President, Mrs. Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf urged member nations to demonstrate commitments to improved collaboration in the areas of trade, climate change and MDG objectives as well as migration and security.

The conference also provided African leaders an avenue to agree on increased trade among their nations, as a way of promoting partnership for the desired development of the continent.

The new plan of action for the realisation of the partnership set out modalities to be adopted by A frica and the EU to improve cooperation and meet the aspirations of member nations.
