| South African Ruling ANC Denounces New Party Collins Atohengbe, Pretoria
South Africa 's ruling party, the African National Congress, ANC, has denied having a hand in the formation of the National Freedom Party, which was launched about two weeks ago by the former chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party.
The Inkatha Freedom Party, IFP had, in a press statement accused the ruling ANC of complicity in the decision of Zanel Magwana-Msimbi's decision to form a new political outfit to contest in upcoming local election.
The ANC spokesperson, Jackson Mthembu said the party was surprised that Inkatha Freedom party would believe an unsigned document as evidence that the ruling party engineered the development.
Mr. Mthembu said Magwana-Msimbi had often complained of the leadership style of Chief Buthelezi in the media.
He called on IFP to look inward for the solution to its problem and not make the ruling party a scape goat.
Zanele Magwana-Msimbi was the National Chairperson of the Inkatha Freedom Party, until her removal from office late in December 2010.
She launched the National Freedom Party in mid January after she failed to get a court order to reverse her removal from office.
